Code 32 and high temps
Hello all,
i have a ‘90 305 TBI that I have owned since Nov 2018. The car is stock except for an open element filter and Flowmaster cat-back (neither installs by me). I recently moved out of town and have a ~20min commute that is 45-55 mph. I am noticing that the car runs warm 210-220 after driving for about 15 min when it is anything hotter than 75 out. With it being 90 the last few days I have seen temps starting to reach 230 by the end of the drive.
I have ave also started getting a code 32, which I found is an EGR issue. Can these two be related? I’m not running AC during this since it doesn’t blow cold normally. Any thoughts are appreciated

Due to the fact your average commute speed is 50 I would check the Air Dam to see if it’s in good condition.

Yeah, sounds like a missing air dam. The dam is essential for cooling at highway speeds. The fans will handle the cooling when stopped or going slow.

So sure enough I was missing an air dam. Thanks previous owner. Installed and now holds at 200-210 on the highway. I still notice a bump in temps when the SES light comes on for the EGR but it stays below 220. I guess EGR is the next project. Thanks all
