Upper Radiator Hose Length?...
Has anyone ever had to cut a new upper radiator hose to fit properly? The new one I just installed was at least 6-inches too long.
It fits fine now, but I never expected that I would need to shorten it. Now I'm wondering if the auto parts store gave me a hose for a V-6, which would have to be longer since the V-6 sits further from the radiator...

Thanks, guys. That makes sense (why make, sort, and label two different length hoses when they can just make one that is cut-to-fit?)...

The hose will have a bunch of cut marks on it at various different distances from the ends. When the parts store n000b looks it up, the computer tells which cut is required, and s/he's supposed to tell you. Maybe s/he didn't. [gomer pyle]Surprise, surprise, surprise!!![/gomer pyle]
Cut it until it fits.
Cut it until it fits.
