water pump

Hello,

My water pump is tired .... I live in France and I want to pass an order at RA and I don't want to make mistake......on GM SPARE, it is for an 1987 firebird trans am GTA 1987, 5.7L TPI.

2 choices of water pump for standard users.:

Airtex AW1121 or Gates 43099

https://www.rockauto.com/fr/moreinfo...=2208&jsn=1827 => two gasket + the plug
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...pt=2208&jsn=14
https://www.rockauto.com/en/moreinfo...08&jsn=8&jsn=8

I don't know if it is the good deal because there a lot of choice..... perhaps another better for not more expensive.

But Gates is the only one with the plug if mine is off and rusty ..it is better choice perhaps.

Re: water pump

Gates will probably be fine. I'd use fel pro gaskets and hi temp thread sealant on the bolts.
