Cooling Replacements

I am currently rebuilding a 1991 RS and am swapping in the L98 350. I plan to put the ZZ4 cam in the motor. I was wondering what cooling options are viable now? Is it worth upgrading to the fancy expensive radiators or just doing some type of OEM single core style radiator? I can also likely clean up the stock fan and shroud and run that, as it does not seem upgrading gains much cooling with a relatively stock motor.

I was looking at this radiator from Advanced Auto: https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/...hTerm=radiator

What other items should I look into, such as thermostats and lower temperature fan switches?

Re: Cooling Replacements

I had a zz4 in my car w a stock v8 radiator for years and had no over heating issues. A zz4 uses the same aluminum vette heads and has 10:1 comp. IDK what the L98 compression is but I'm sure it's not over 10:1. As long as your cooling sys is good, you're all set. It should be a pretty good setup. You may not make full top end potential w the tpi vs modern intake/efi but I bet the torque will be pretty good. I bet your only hurdle will be tuning. There are people here who can help w that.

Yeah I am dreading when I have to get into tuning. That’s a ways down the road and I’m hoping somewhere around me knows how to do it if not I guess I’ll have to learn.
