Can I use the Factory ECM?

first of all this is what I have: 1987 Camaro TPI 5.7 with 700R4. I am planning on dropping a low compression 406ci engine I have sitting in my garage in it, as well as getting the new Holley StealthRam intake. Then, I plan on a turbo, or twin turbo (probably single turbo, the more I think about it). I'm planning 600-700hp and 50-60# injectors. Am I going to have to switch to DFI? Originally, I thought I would have to, but after reading posts, I believe I'm on the border line. What do you think? Thanks.

There were no factory TPI (V8) cars with
turbos/SCs, so getting the factory code to
work with a 2 or 3-bar MAP or going way
past the capabilities of the factory MAF is
difficult if not near impossible at those power
levels.. Additionally, injectors of that size
will require high current peak&hold injector
drivers that (again) didn't come in any multi-
port FI factory ECM..

Well.....it all depends..

Theres always the 749 from a SyTy.

To run P/H's tho the drivers will need to be swapped to handle the additional load. (It will run 4 P/H's stock, using the Sunbird Turbo wiring style)

Do a search on the 749.. lots of info

50s tuned right will get you to 750 HP easily.
50s are saturated so your OK ecm wise for them.

You need to read thru a commented Hac to see how any one calibration works to see what you'll need to do.

Seems like it would be easiest to convert to a T/C type ecm like the syclones, and typhoons used.
