I posted over in the TBI section but only one has responded and what he said discouraged me...Anyway, I have a 92 RS 305 TBI 5-speed that is stock except for Edelbrock Performer TBI intake, Open Element, and High Flow Cat/Flowmaster 3" Cat-back. I am running the stock ECM with stock PROM. I came accross a dirt cheap PROM on Ebay and bought it. It is an ADS Superchip the guy bought for his 91 RS TBI 305 5-speed and never put it in. I KNOW these chips are not the best, but I can't get into DIY PROM right now so I'm looking for a slightly better than stock PROM. ANYWAY, someone told me that the ECM is different for the 92 model 305 TBI and that this Superchip won't work since it is only for 90-91 models. Is this true???

 

The '89 through '92 TBI ECMS are all the same: 1228746. The chip will work, don't know how well, but it will run.

If you found a few pills laying on the street, would you take them?, that's how I see any generic chip. Using an unknown chip, is gambling. IMO, engines are just too expensive to gamble with.
