need help with a code 36
please help me out i have an 86 iroc with 305tpi is has a code 36 which says(burn off at maf sensor,problem in trans shift,fault in direct ignition system,missing pulses in electronic spark timing signal)my throttle response sucks wont idle under 1400 rpm even after trying to adjust it i am know at a loss the chilton manual was useless any help would be very helpfull thanks chuck

I'd guess its either the MAF or the ignition module. My brother's LT1 gave a code 36 last week, it was the optispark (AKA distributer) high res reference pulse. I think the code when my 92 spark module went bad was 43. I'd look towards MAF issues on this one.

i will go back out and try that i was just out there started the car idle went from 1500 to 2000 then after a few minutes drop to 1100 with an unstable idle put it in drive idle drop to 850 but still rough back into park and it jumped right to 150 to 1800 rpm and throttle reponse isnt good at all so i will keep trying i just dont want to go out buying all kind of parts only to have wasted my money and it doesnt fix my problem thanks for all the info

yes and it seems i have that problem to the ***holes that put the new motor in screwed up on a lot of things under my hood if any one on here lives close to me (canton area 21224) i will pay someone to check this out and hopefully fix it for me it tends to get fustrating for me thanks chuck

just let me know when you have time it wouldnt be so bad if i had a garage and it wasnt cold outside also i tried to take the car out for a spin and it will barely get out of its own way very bad put the gas pedal to the floor and nothing i will be testing the tps tomorrow it got dark on me couldnt see i really love this car and refuse to give up on it
