Tunerpro RT help, new user question

So I loaded TunerPro RT and I have tried to mess with it befoe when I hd an L03 (8746) I have now swapped to a L98 (7730) and have a few dumb questions.

I want to Datalog. What files do I need just for datalogging? I have an .ads for the 1227730 that I downloaded from moates.net I think.

But what about .bin and .xdf files? Do I have to load those also and what do they do exactly?

As you can tell, I'm lost......................

bin is the chip file that you do changes in (Timing,fuel, idle speed and so on)
AUJP is stock 350cui + TH700

XDF.(is the "key" to the bin file)
Super_8d or something like that.........

Thanks for the reply, but do I need a .bin or xdf just to record a datalog session? I think I have a correct .ads file loaded but have not tried to connect to the ECM again yet. I still have old xdf and a bin file at the top of the screen but that was for my 305 TBI engine, which I was never able to connect with either, how do I get rid of these and start over?
