Running a 4L60E

OK, my 700R is incredibly stupid, and I hate it. I would like to swap in a 4L60E trans so I dont have to deal with trying to get the TV cable right, and I think my 700R is shot anyways.

Is there any ECM that can control a 4L60E and will run my MAF TPI? If not, I am willing to swap to SD if there is a SD / 4L60E ECM that will run a batch injection system (tpi).

I am running a 305 TPI(1994 305 TBI, LT1 cam, stock O81 heads, SD TPI intake, LT1 TB, 24 lb/hr injectors)/4L60E combo with a 1998 Vortec Van PCM and harness. It adds sequential injection as well.

i belive it can be done with the PCM's from 93-95 trucks so you can keep obd1 and less expensive tuning

It can be done, look for HaulinA$$.

The MAF Vortec PCM with sequential injection run very well though and gets great gas mileage. I am getting 23 MPG highway in a 4,600 lbs G10 van with 3.73 gears.

How does it run sequential? There is no cam sensor on my TPI engine.

Ahh. From what I've read off those links, the 'black' vortec PCM has a hardwired 5800RPM revlimiter.

Is there an OBD-I style ECM that could run it and still use the chips, software and OBD cable I already have?

as an alternative, there are many standalone 4L60-E controlers on the market. You could use one of those and run the engine and trans on seperate computers.

"from what I've heard" these are quite expensive.

Could I just run a second ECM in my car from a mid ninties truck to control the trans?
