Re: hei into a cam sync

Um, why not just install another crank sensor on the dizzy base?? I'm assuming your not using the HEI anymore and can gut the dizzy. Seriously, just do the same thing others do to their ford and MSD dizzys.

My bet is you could use the same electronic bits, just assemble them onto the base of the dizzy. If you managed to install the crank sensor, you should be able to do it as well.

If I'm totally off base, maybe you could explain where your getting hung up?

By the way, what the **** is 'bs3'?

bs3 is a engine managment like fast or accell but does alot more for less money. I figured it out called msd if i take the dizzy apart and ground 7teeth off the pickup and 7 teeth off the shaft. then it is a cam sync just dont use the module. then to lock it out i ground the **** were the springs hook drilled and tapped them so i can sync the rtr as well.hear is the link for bs3 if interested http://www.bigstuff3.com/

Didn't consider that. A lot more work, but no parts to add.

Wow, what did you pay for that?? Along the lines of fast or accell??

Hmmm...I'm happy with my $250 Megasquirt II, but that's for another thread.

Re: hei into a cam sync

the bs3 cost me $2200 but it isnt that bad i havent got the motor in yet but it just plugs into gm conectors. the buys who made the accell and fast now make the bs3. my buddy tried to talk me into the megasquirt but i hate to wire and solder. it is supposed to be a kick *** system though.

The soldering is part of the fun, and wiring is hated by all. Doesn't mean we don't all have to deal with it though.

It is quite flexible for the price, however it can create a lot of headaches if your not good with electronics.
