wideband vs 4 gas
Does anyone know if a four gas analyzer is really any differant than a wide band O2 ? I dont want to go hog wild buying all these new gadgets If I have things on the shelf here that will work. I would think I could tune WOT just fine with it but then again Im a newbie to this tuning thing. Any Ideas or imput would be great. Thanks in advance

Re: wideband vs 4 gas
I've seen a 5 gas (same thing, just monitors an extra gas) in action, and the biggest drawback I see is that there is a HUGE lag time from change in motor to when you see the results. I just don't think it would be a practical tool for tuning a motor. I could be wrong, but there's my 2 cents.
At least for me, the output of an O2 sensor just makes more sense to interperate. I don't know if your 4 gas (I assume you have one, which is why you are asking if it could be used) can do it, but figuring out the Oxygen:fuel ratio would be pretty hard to do if all you have is the raw data.
Hope this helps.
