Anyone know where I can find ALDL software to run with windows XP / 2000 for an 89 305TPI? I saw the thread for craig moates, but free software can't run with xp. Any Help??

Great software. Seems to have more functions than tunercat, but I'm still in the learing mode. I have an 87 305/TPI/5spd and have been using Tunerpro RT with the 6E bin and couldn't be happier. There is also an expanded 6E XDF file floating around here on TGO. I highly recomend using it. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/diy-...tion-file.html

Awesome, thanks! How does this 6E definitions file work? How do I include this to work with the craig's file. Thanks for the help!

Download the 6E stuff from mark or moates.net.

Re: ALDL Software
.BIN- the actual information thats stored on your computer chip.
.XDF- you need to load an XDF file into lets say tuner pro to be able to read the BIN. The XDF files are created by someone, and have all the tables/constants/flags that you will use to edit the information in the bin (fuel tables, spark advance everything)
there will be a couple different xdf files for your application (computer) and they will all have slightly different categories. The XDF files are also known as Editor Definiton files
.ADS - You need to load an ADS file into tunerpro to be able to link up to the aldl connection. These files are also known as Datastream Definition files. There will also be specific files for your application.
that covers the very very basics, now get to reading

Re: ALDL Software
How do you load and ADS file into tunerpro? I checked out the help menu but still can't figure out how to get started linking the software to the ECM. I am able to bring up the xdf file, but that's about it.
Also teh .ads and .xdf files I've viewed on different web pages are lines of code. What do I need to do to properly take them from the host site and apply them to tunerpro? Thanks again guys!

When downloading ADS/XDF files, right-click and save-as.
