aftermarket knock sensor kit?
With the install of my accel gen 6 DFI. I no longer have a knock sensor which really sucks for tuning my blower application. I see an msd kit on summit that retails 185~ dollars. Pricey for what it looks like. Any other kits out there that I can read from the drivers seat? or a do-it-yourself guide to making one?

Re: aftermarket knock sensor kit?
I've seen schematics for knock indicator setups on the 'net. Basically a 555 timer to extend the pulse and flash a light. From your original '89 setup there is the knock sensor and the knock module (ESC module). With these in place the output of the ESC can be used to trigger the 555. Which then extends the (short) pulse that normally would go to the ECM.
The output of the 555 can flash several LEDs, or can be buffered (transistor) and flash a light bulb.
May want to check Caspers (www.casperselectronics.com) for an off the shelf unit.
