Anyone made a USB to ALDL cable?

Has anyone done a homemade cable to datalog for a newer computer with only USB connections? I have been searching for at least two solid days and only find people that have bought a cable. Someone must have made a cable or have a schematic or instructions for a cheap way to connect to USB. & when I say cheap I don't mean 60 dollars, I mean more like 15 or 20 max.
If not, does anyone want to trade this damn computer for an old one with a serial port so I can make a cable for about 5 bucks?

Well which adapter is that? My wallet is tighter than a crab's @ss and wanna do this as cheap as possible. I found a cable at fry's electronics that is USB to serial so I may be able to wire to a serial plug into that. But even then I've been reading about people having a real pain doing this stuff with Vista.

Re: Anyone made a USB to ALDL cable?

Anybody?

Well I bought a USB to serial adapter cable, the brand is Cables Unlimited and made a serial cable with the schematic from the winaldl page. I've been looking for drivers to make my computer see that USB to serial cable as a com port with no luck so far. Also I have both winaldl and tunerpro RT downloaded on my computer.

Has anyone had any luck with something like this using Vista or am I screwed with this wonderful operating system?

The keyspan from moates.net seems to be the best. I've tried 3 and it works well, even with tunercat II. TCII will not work with any I've tried except the keyspan.
