Aftermarket ECM, or not???

I am in the process of building a 383 stroker for my car, it has the L98 in it, what is going to be the best way to go with this as far as the ecu, do i get a chip burned, or do I need to update the ECU. Please Help! Also who is a good tuner, that can give me advice on cam selection, injectors, ETC.

Thanks

Re: Aftermarket ECM, or not???

I just got my 87 gta, it has full stainless exhaust including headers, cold air intake, and new bocsh injectors, I think it may have more upgrades to. I don't have any info from past owner. I noticed right away it is loading up and running very rich, I need to get a chip or a burn I'm sure. My question is what are my options? I like the idea of this six pack programer I saw on eBay. Since I would like to use as a daily driver and a weekend toy, also when my wife drives it I can govern it so she doesn't wreck it. I have heard they are junk. Are they all? Thnx.....

If you're keeping the TPI, check out www.dynamicefi.com
I just got an EBL P4 Flash for my 91 TPI... It can do all the things mentioned above, it can have 8 banks of programs set, 1 daily driver, 1 performance, 1 wife governed

Re: Aftermarket ECM, or not???

Don't bother with a chip. The chip will get you close and it should run better. Go for the EBL setup!! You can tune your car dead on. I would get in contact with them before you buy chip. Even when you give the chip maker your info so many things have a + or - in an engine setup the chip will be an average. It's worth the money for the EBL. If you change anything you can make adjustments with the EBL, with the chip you have to get another and start all over again.
