maybe bad ecu?need help
hi guys let me start by just sayin im new to the forum and new to firebirds and just want to learn i have some machanic knowlegde but its mostly in japan cars but anyways here is my problem
i have a 86 firebird with the 2.8l that my neighbor gave me for free just to get it off his property. what i was told was it doesnt run and they dont know why. so i got it home put a battery in it and turned it over and no start .after a couple hours figured out that the fuel pump was bad so i replaced that with a new pump and strainer along with new wires went to try to start it again and still no start. check it for spark and it has it then went to the injector to see if it was getting fuel. the injectors are good but i have 12v on both side of the injector clip is this right?if so what would not be letting the injectors open up?it has a full tune up including new fuel filter. so let me get to my question since this is getting long
my question is could it be a bad ecu and if so how can i test it

im having the same problem with my 91 Rs. it has a new fuel pump and filter and regulator. its getting spark. the car wont start unless i spray ether or gas into the throttle body? i have fuel at the rail. i also have 12v on both pins of the fuel injectors? is that right? im leaning towards a bad ecm. does this sound right and how could i test it?
