Need help identifying a remanned factory ECM

Trying to sort out tuning on this new project, and low and behold the ECM is remanned # 7-7165. Papers that I got with the car had a hypertech custom tuners worksheet included and show the ecm as 122 7727. Is the 7-7165 a remanned 122 7727? I was told by a prom burner that 122 7727 was speed density, but I think the car is currently MAF. Can someone please shed some light on this. The hypertech chip currently on the 7-7165 in the car is PN 7777.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Need help identifying a remanned factory ECM

1227165 is a MAF ECM and 1227727 is a waterproof MAP ECM typically used in Corvettes and lots of other cars and under the hood. the Hypertech 7777 is for LT1 engines. everything you have posted is a mis-match.

Re: Need help identifying a remanned factory ECM

That's probably why the car has a bad tune. I did some research and think that I am going to do a custom MEMCAL for the 165 ECM. After researching, I am actually very surprised that the car even runs with the 7777 chip. Thanks for the help utilityguy.

if it is in fact a lt1 memcal if you remove the memcal cover lt1 92-93 memcals just have a knock board no other small chips under them.

A1 Cardone reman? they like to reuse the GM part numbers with a 7-xxxx with the x being the ladt 4 numbers in the ECM's original part number.

or at least i think it was A1 that did that...

anyways, it's a 1227165.
