Engine Swap

HI;
Newbie question!
I am working on an engine swap using a 1986 Camaro 1227165 ECM. I am using a 1989 350 TPI engine and am having trouble with making a data connection using a aldl cable. I tried checking the pinouts as shown on the Chevythunder web site, and found that Serial data pin A8 shows "0" volts both key on and engine running.The Diagnostic Term pin A9 shows "0" volts key on and 4.97 volts engine running. Everything else checks out at or very near the voltages listed on the Chevythunder site. Does this mean my ECM is the problem? I can't seem to connect to the thing, and I have tried all the fixes that show up on the software (DataMaster,ALDLwindows and TunerPro RT websites.) I can get a connection using WinALDL but the stream of data shows the vehicle moving at ever changing speeds(on jack stands without driveshaft) and thats about all that comes across, the promid cells change right along with the MPH except a little box flashes red #6(WinALDL) that Jonas (WinALDL) was saying the MPG being sent out to the Corvette digital dashboard?? I am way over my head on this, the engine runs pretty well, but until I can find out what it is up to I can't do anything to smooth things out.

Re: Engine Swap

winaldl requires a 10k resister across a to B this will raise the idle and disable the knock sensor. The box will change to green on winaldl and will update every 3 to 5 sec.
