Need some help.

Hey thirdgen members,
I have a 1988 Camaro I've started to notice that my car is running VERY rich,
So rich in fact I just changed my oil and the bad oil actually reeked of gasoline(literally). I would like to know if someone could be so kind as to
tell me where my cars O2 sensors are and what other sensors it could be.

Re: Need some help.

On a V8 run rich is a number of things, TPS, O2 sensor, ECM.

If your oil is gas saturated, you might want to fix the problem very soon. The gas will eat the rings and you will be scoring cylinders in short order.

Re: Need some help.

02 sensor is usually in exhaust manifold, that interacts w/ecm and regulates fuel delivery, but doesn't begin to work until it get to 600 degrees F. If its in/op ecm goes into a default mode and runs lean.

O2 sensors are rather cheap Ill start with that and bump the thread if it doesn't fix my issue.

Re: Need some help.

Probably CTS or leaky injector. Check your spark plugs for signs of raw fuel

Re: Need some help.

If the coolant sensor that serves the ECU is bad it can go very rich. It tells the ECU the temp is -20dF. Pull codes!
