Will a TPI 305Hypertech Chip Work on a 350?

Doe's anybody know why or if a Hypertech chip that will work on a TPI 305 not work on a 350? Seems like just a marketing trick just to sell more chips. Anybody tried it? It's practically the same engine except for the bore. Let me know what you think....

Any given engine displacement has its needs at any given range. A 305 needs a lot less fuel at 2500 rpm then a 350 at 2500 rpm. The programming is different to show that. That's only one spec but hopefully you get the point.

That's a given. But wouldn't the 02 Sensor tell it, it's running lean and adjust the injector pulse? I'm not trying to be a smart A** just asking the question. I'm putting a TPI 350 out of a C4 Vette in place of my TPI 305. That's why I'm asking. I already have the chip for the 305.

There's a lot more involved, but I'm not the expert. Ill step aside and let a senior member explain. I know a lot has to do with knock and timing.

I spoke with Hypertech. They said the Fuel/Air ratio is different and so is the timing curve. Sucks! I have a chip for the vette engine and one for the formula engine. And I can't use either one. Unless I use the wiring harness and computer for the vette. I have a 1989 Formula and I bought a 1990 Vette engine. Come to find out. In 1990 the corvette TPI engine changed from MAF to MAP so it's completely different. Oh well. I guess I'll have to buy the one for the Pontiac 350. I think that sounds a lot easier than rewiring the car. Any suggestions on who makes the best one these days for that year???

I have an 1989 350, ADS Chip I can sell you. It's the same as Hypertech.....it was in my 1989 Formula 350, with 700R4.

Let me know if want it. I can send you a pic if you want.....comes in the original box.
