DFI programming information swap page
Is anyone interested in contributing to something like this? We could all post our mods and our latest programs so everyone could look at them and maybe learn from each other. I'd be glad to host it. Just wondering if there was any interest.
thanks

Good deal Dan.
So, can anyone answer "Where is my torque?" It just seems low compared to others with similar set-ups.

Thanks, Dan. Just added it to "Favorites". Something like this is probably overdue.
RCR - are you running a knock sensor? And what CR? First glance at the swap page pix and the lower left quadrant of your ignition values looks a little lazy compared to mine (>50% load and <3200 rpm). For reference, I'm running a 355 with the SuperRam and 62cc AFR 190's (around 10.2 CR) and LPE's 213/219 cam. I'm sure that my ignition map never goes into single digits, and I'm not getting any retard either.

Norm,
Yes I'm using a new 350 knock sensor. I had the same problem with the original 305 sensor. The CR is about 9.2:1. From a dead stop, I can nail it and not have any retard, but from a 20-30mph roll, I get A LOT. That's why I backed the timing down. It still retards, but not as bad. It seems to be a problem that I've always had, and can't get rid of. Last time I dyno'd the timing was more aggressive.

From the roll, is it downshifting all the way back to low gear or does it only drop back to 2nd? Does it retard as badly from, say, 45 - 50 roll?
Unfortunately Calmap's data recording won't directly track tranny gear, and the torque converter makes it more difficult to pick up the gear downshifted to from the rpm history, but you could try recording some runs in snapshot mode with rpm's and timing, MAP, %throttle, etc. I think that the sample rate is better with fewer things selected.
Perhaps some more info about fuel pressure & injector size would help track down anything to be found in the fuel map. I've only worked with my own system, which I'm sure differs from yours in these parameters, but maybe somebody else will jump in. Anyway, the only thing I saw there that I didn't expect (and it's probably minor) is in the row that starts on the left with 44 - about halfway up the rpm's it drops a couple of counts, then rises by over 20% (68, 70, 72, 70, 86, 90, 98). Does 2600 - 3000 rpm suggest anything? Neither the row above nor the one below does anything anywhere near that drastic, although there are also some big jumps at higher rpm's under lighter load (65 to 83, 57 to 81, 62 to 75, 50 to 65, and 45 to 58). I wonder if that causes any difficulty in the interpolation (that possibility was suggested to me by one of Accel's EMIC people when I was first getting mine set up, although not in so many words).
Hope this helps.

A little more info (Thanx for the input Norm, BTW). 24lb LT1 injectors. I believe the pressure is around 48psi, but I would have to check to confirm.
The fuel curve gets a little jumpy in spots because the original table was way too rich after I put the LT4 Hot cam. I worked the numbers down so that everything looks good in everyday driving. The spots where it jumps are areas that I can't "safely" check in everyday driving situations.
The area that seems to give problems is the lower left and across the bottom two rows. That's where I'm at when the knocking occurs. Trying to pinpoint it, I'd say 1200RPM area from <50% load moving quickly to 80%+ load. That's when the knock counts jump.

Any chance the cam is advanced a little too far and the intake is closing too early?
I'll try to get something out of my laptop that's more recent for some comparisons.

I'm going to try and get my DFI installed this weekend, but I still have some vacuum leaks to chase down first and I need to find a non-maf tpi intake boot.

Norm, I fixed the knocking problem (knock on wood ..no pun intended). It would seem that I was running into a lean condition with large changes in MAP pressure. I just fattened up the transition table and voila, knocking gone.

The problem is folks will assume they are onto something good and tend to repeat others mistakes.
Your better to rough it out and actually learn what works for your car then coping others.
People so often go to the more timing the better mindset, and just compund their errors from there.
Sad but true
