EBL-WUD question
My EBL is locking up here lately. Not the computer it but the WUD. When I am data logging every now and then I look at the screen and it's froze. Sometimes I can click over to another screen and back and it will unlock it and other times I have to close it down and re-open. No matter what happens the engine is still running fine so I think it is a communication problem with my laptop. The comm port is the same one I have been using all along.
When I first noticed it the WUD was fine but when I clicked over to the trip, VE, Spark or Diag pages they were frozen but the WUD was ok. Then it would just lock up on occasion and this morning I couldn't get it to unlock until I restarted my computer. It seems to be more frequent. I don't notice problems with other programs but I am not super computer savvy. Any suggestions?

Re: EBL-WUD question
If you can click to the different displays the WUD isn't locked up or frozen. Without data arriving the WUD displays won't update.
Need to look into the laptops USB port, it may be that the driver became corrupted (de-install and reinstall it). Or possibly the cable is coming loose from the socket.
Next time it occurs unplug the cable and pause, then plug it back in. See if that fixes it. Note that when you do this the WUD should show the port closed, then after plugging the cable back in show open.
If the USB connector is a little loose in the socket can squeeze the metal shell together a little.

Re: EBL-WUD question
Ok that makes sense, what I described as "frozen" is not updating the data, I understand the difference. I'll try those suggestion. Thanks.

Re: EBL-WUD question
I thought of another item, if you have anti-malware or anti-virus they can interfere with the USB comm. Not sure why, if they are monitoring the data stream or just takes up too much kernel time.
If a recent update of either has been done, it is a good possibility that is the issue.
