How To Identify Performance Chips?
I recently went to re-run a new power wire for an AMP and under the passenger dash section I found a little silver box w/ Electrical Tape -_- on both ends...as if that's what's keeping it together, lid on, etc. I'm assuming based on what I've read this may be the ECM. How do I know if a "performance chip" was installed by a P/O. What's the best way to inspect/identify? Any precautions I should take?BTW, I searched for related threads and in the sticky's....zilch!
Thank you,

Re: How To Identify Performance Chips?
I will disco the battery, un-tape, and inspect. This will have to be tomorrow morning, I'll take pics and update accordingly.
I hope I do not foul anything up,
I've not read about anyone else having a freggin taped up ECM...
Thanks for the Image dmccain.
