What ecu is this?

Found a junked vette at the yard with what I think is a remain ecu. The cover was sand blasted. I don't know what I am looking at for internals wise to tell me what it is. I have not picked it up yet but I want to make sure it would work for my tuning needs. I did get the plugs and prom. Thanks for any help.

Re: What ecu is this?

Looks to be the 1227165 MAF TPI ECM. Even as a re-man there should be a part number on the top of the case.

Re: What ecu is this?

It is an 8259 ecu. Is that any good?

Re: What ecu is this?

Is there anything else I need to go back for to pull out of the vette for this conversion?

Re: What ecu is this?

It is not directly compatible with 85. No other year is compatible with 85. If you change to an 86+ MAF (and it may need other changes also - I'm not sure) it could be made to work.
