Ecm 730 doesn't store check engine light codes

I have a 91z28 355 built engine running a superram and an ostrich emulator with tunerpro software. Problem is when I first start it runs fine then within 15 minutes the check engine light kicks on. So i turn the car off and try to pull codes but get nothing.
Is there a way to pull codes while still datalogging with tunerpro ? Or is there a battery in the ecm which might be dead not able to store them ?

No battery in the ECM. It can take up to 20 seconds for a code to be stored. So if you are shutting the engine off too soon, let it run for a while.

Should get at least code 12. That shows that the ALDL port and ECM should be OK.

The malfunction codes are in the ALDL stream. Just need to pull them out via TunerPro.

Yeah I get a code 12. I'll try to let it run longer
