Wiring Mess

I have a 84 Z28, I've swapped the motor out and there's a whole lot of wires that I don't need anymore. The only wires I need are the alternator, distributor, and fan. I have power windows, seats, and locks. Half the wires I don't know where they went or what they were for. Is there a harness or something that I could just unplug that would make it easier to get all these wires out or something?

Re: Wiring Mess

Maybe... Early cars tend to have more individual harnesses than later cars. It's also possible you have wiring for options the car never had. I remember my 83 was packed with wires that went nowhere since it was a base model stripper. For the sake of future flexibility, the best option is to tie the wires off where they won't get battered, beaten, melted, or otherwise destroyed. You never know when someone might want to go back. Once you remove a harness and lose it somewhere in storage or the circular file (trash can), going back becomes nigh impossible.

Re: Wiring Mess

Do you have a non-computer carb and distributor in it now?
Is it an automatic trans(700r4)?
