Shop Diagnostic
I recently got my 87 Trans am GTA back from the shop for a diagnostic. They stated "DIAGNOSE SURGING IDLE AND DIES AT IDLE. AFTER INSPECTION FOUND INTERNAL PROBLEM IN BODY CONTROL MODULE. RECOMMEND REPLACEMENT OF BCM. AT THIS TIME PART IS UNAVAILABLE DUE TO AGE OF VEHICLE. CUSTOMER ADVISED."
Am I crazy? I was under the impression that third gens do not have a BCM. Feedback wanted.

Re: Shop Diagnostic
no such thing on these cars, dont think that was even invented until the late 90's. sounds like a super lazy shop

Yes, it is a tuned port. Usually fix myself but this time been having problems, also been struggling to find a shop that knows how to work on 3rd gens.

Re: Shop Diagnostic
What’s the issue, running poorly and no communication when trying to read data with scanner or blink codes ?
