Ebl p4 flash cable
Does anyone know exactly what kind of cable it is that you connect from your laptop to the communication cable from the ecm on the ebl p4. I misplaced my old one and I'm currently trying to find a replacement. Thanks

I don't know what the cable is. @RBob the creator of the EBL system recently passed away. So if you need to download any software or updates or technical data and schematics you might want to get it while you can because who knows how much longer his site will be up for.

Re: Ebl p4 flash cable
Pretty sure it is a RJ12 cable (6 internal wires). Make sure it isn't a RJ11 cable (4 internal wires), in the past I tried that and even though it plugged in, data wasn't transmitted.
Then you need the serial port adapter that the RJ12 plugs into and then a serial to usb adapter. The serial to usb needs to have the FTDI chipset.
You can probably find a cable with one end having the RJ12 and the other end having the serial connector. Then you would just need the serial to USB.

Re: Ebl p4 flash cable
If that is the P4 then I definitely stand corrected. It is not the RJ11/12 style connector.
I thought the EBL Flash and EBL P4 used the same cable.

It almost looks like a 3.5 mm jack. I will try one and see if it works.

Re: Ebl p4 flash cable
I found this one locally. Would it work just as well as the one you sent?

Re: Ebl p4 flash cable
The transistor to transistor logic (TTL) with the one you linked appears to be 3.3v...
You need 5v. Try this one here, ...
