115mph shutdown chip override?
i gotta friend with a 1990 camaro
it has a speed chip where it wont go over 115
i was wondering if there is anything he could do to override this chip or something......thanks

his 90 camaro is a 305 TBI right?it's the VSS that wont allow him to go any faster than that.there are ways around it with out burning a new chip.just do a search the VSS.

Do it right, remove the speed limiter in the eprom. If you get the eprom burning equipment and spend a little time with it you'll get even better performance and better gas mileage that while more than offset the cost.
If you want to make a "short-term cheap decision" (which will cost you in the long run) just contact a custom eprom burner like Ed Wright to remove the speed limiter. Some of the "off-the-shelf" may also remove the speed limiter.
