still can not get CM to link?
I just got my new cable with the power supply and I can not link to Craig Moates software??? Connections are good and correct, black to black, red to orange as stated in the instructions. I am running Windows ME and booted to dos and opened the program from the C:\ but still could not get the program to link? Any help would greatly be appriciated! I am going to format the HDD and install W98 tomorrow and give it a go? I have my lpt on com 1 and can not change that, but i set the software to use com2 and I the cable is connected to com 2.???? PLEASE HELP

Get back once you've tried the Win98 thing. You know you can just download a boot disk and run the program from a floppy to try it out...Datalogging would be a bit limited though!
LPT on COM1? I'd not heard of that. Guess I haven't lived.

OK, I have installed W98 on my thinkpad. I also have w98 on my friends dell laptop, have the ecm850 program installed in both laptops and i can not connect or LINK up to the ALDL??? I thought it may be a conflict between the com ports, however, i disabled the IR on my Thinkpad and was able to remove the lpt port so the com 1 was avaliable by itself on the dell. I can not link up to the car with either laptops? I click on the startrun and the proram seems to work in "off line mode" but does not work at all in diagnostic mode?
Can anyone help

I believe I am still using the version 8.45 but I will have to check when I get home. But, AFAIK, you shouldn't be having this problem.
What cable are you using?
