Simple question on chips
Simple question on chips
I have an ART EPP 1 programmer. Now if I am reading chips to buffer does it matter what manufacturer I select as the chip?
As long as the numbers are the same the chip should be the same right?
so for instance if I want to read a 27C128 chip it does not matter if I select Microchip as manufacturer or Intel? Actually to come to think of it I used MICROCHIP as the manufacturer, they have both the 27C128 and 27C256 and the eprom programmer read it okay.
But in the example above Both of them have the 27C128 option so it does not matter who I choose right?

I don't think it matters when you are reading the chip. I think the reason for the different manufacturers is for different programming voltages.
