Ok well the program opens on my regular computer and I copied it to disc and copied it onto the laptop harddrive. I tried to open it and it didn't work. Then I looked in the Windows System folder and the 'Msflxgrd.ocx' file was not in there. The laptop didn't have the INSTOCX.BAT file so I went back onto my regular computer and copied 'Msflxgrd.ocx' onto a floppy and put it into the Windows System folder on the laptop. It still won't open WINALDL!!! Why isn't this working?? Did I overlook something?? Does the laptop computer have to have Microsoft Excel installed by any chance?? Any other ideas why it won't open?

Bort is right, you cant just copy the executable over to another machine and expect it to work. I am pretty sure WinALDL installs a couple of components so it can communicate with the serial port (This is so it can be used on Win 98 and WinNT, and 2k, etc). If they arent installed, WinALDL wont be of much use

I copied the whole WINALDL folder over to the laptop, but maybe it isn't enough?? Can I copy the Zip file or should I try to connect the laptop to the internet and download it directly??

Just copy the install file (winaldl_108a.exe), over to the laptop, and run it on the laptop. It should install all the files you need.
Thanks. I took care of it last night and now it opens on the laptop. Hopefully the cable I made will work, soldering isn't exactly my strong point.
How do I save a file that I create in the program so I can send it to the guys who burnt my chip??

I'll second that......I definately was wrong. I got the program installed, but I can't get my cable to work.
