PP2 problem
did a search but didn't see anyone with the same problem.
I've downloaded everything included version 1.5.
I'm using Winbin.
Problem is, my computer cannot find the PP. it's definitely completely plugged into LPT1 and the power is definitely plugged in. Both the PP and the xfmr get nice and warm.
I've gone through the readme and where it shows my problem the information is incomplete. It stops in mid-sentence at "the".
Anyone know what I can look at/fix/return to xtronics to get this thing working right?
I've never burned before. This was gonna be my de-virgining.

Can you swap the cable end for end? Also make sure there are no other programs running in the background. If you have access to another computer, give it a try on there, maybe at a friend's house or a friendly computer store or something.

Had the same issue. With Windows up, nothing else running, I unplugged and plugged the transformer, then started the PP2 software and it hooked. This has worked with my XP desktop and also the W98 laptop I use in the car.
I leave the PP2 powered up all the time and no problems since. Yes it runs hot. Just set a fondue pot on it and enjoy the appetizers. Oh, and make sure your fire insurance is up to date.

At least yours works now. My xfmr is now toast. I heard a click from it while it was plugged in and now i get no voltage whatsoever. I'm waiting to see what xtronics wants to do.
I haven't even put a chip into the programmer yet.
You're in Crystal Lake huh....I hate the cops there. I try to keep my bird away from there.

Kudos to xtronics!
Turns out my power supply was bad. They sent me a new one and everything looks good.

Thanks for the help everyone.
