Need some help guys!
Ok, I'll start off by saying I'm new to this PROM burning, so if I ask a stupid question I'll apologize in advance.
Having some problems. First one dealing with when I burn a chip and install the adapter I can no longer get my scanner to read data. But if I unplug the adapter and insert the stock memcal it reads fine. I install the adapter with the memcal facing with the side with 2 guides sticking up, which seems the only way it'll go in. Is this correct? Anything I can look at to try and solve this problem?
Ok, second problem I can probably work out but would appreciate any insight you can give. I just built a 383, stealthram intake and AFR heads, and 42lbs injectors. Ok, I can get it to start up, but after it warms up it changed the LV8 table it was using and then the BLM and INT maxed out and the motor just sputtered and died. Any quick way to get it better so I can get to tuning some on it? I plan on swapping to SD when I get it going and have some more money, so I just want to get it driveable for now. So in light of that I'm using a stock 87 bin. I tried to decipher the ARAP bin but got lost in it.
Thanks for reading, help is appreciated!

Need a bit more info on the first....which adaptor are you referring too?
Next-you're starting it up with a stock bin? And the blm's are maxing out low? Yes? Well you've got kinda large inj. and if the inj. constant is still at the original-you need to change the inj. constant first to at least ballpark it so it'll run...

Ok, I think maybe I figured out part of what I'm doing wrong. I just re-read Trax's article and I notice it says that I only burn half the chip with my bin because it's an 87. How do I do this? The first time I read it I was planning on going SD so I kinda ignored that part and now it came back to bite me

Depending on your programmer you can either load thei bin into the upper half of the chip starting at address $4000 or double up the bin to 32K by the following..
copy /b old.bin+old.bin new.bin
either works fine, it just depends on if your burner can set the start address or not. cheers, Bob

But I'm using the PP II, and when I attempt putting in $4000 for start of device, it says $$4000 is not valid.
Do I need to put in 4000, 04000, or? since it's automatically placing the $?
