Having problems reading the stock eprom

Hi I just purchased an epromer 5 along with the software with an adapter to plug into the stock memcal. Although, I have yet to read a chip properly. I set the programmer up for the proper eprom and attempt to read it. Unfortunatly it does not seem to aquire all of the data. It comes out with certain values but not all.

I tested the programmer from the instructions received and it passed. I then tested the adapter to ensure it has conectivity from the bottom to the top of the chip and it passed with flying colours.

I received a template from tunnercat so I know what it is supposed to look like. I also have the correct .bin file to work with. I have been speaking with Craig moates, he recommends that I drop my os for Win 98 instead of Win 2000. I would really like to avoid this if I could.

I guess my question would be does anyone use win2k with there programmer software and is there anything else I should look for. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Ian

running win 2K and 98 both with the epromer5.

the epromer5's socket will handle larger eproms (upto 32 pin) than what we typically use (28 pin). Our eproms need to be setback from pin 1 as marked on the epromer. (pin 1 on the eprom will be pin 3 on the programmer. (the eprom needs to be all the way right in the zip socket, nearest the handle) HTH, Bob

Well it looks like ive narrowd it down to the adapter. I just tested a chip that a friend had without the adapter and was able to read the chip and edit it in tunnercat. Also, I know the stock proms that i was unable to read are good as I have ran them on an engine before. Unless there is something wrong with the chip that I don't know about.

Oh yay what eprom comes from the delco P/N 16151348

If you think there's a problem with the adapter, just let me know and I'll send you a new one or whatever.
