Problem with romulator and '278

Hello,

i just got my romulator and i'm having problems with it. I can program the romulator when the romulator is not pluged into the car but as soon as it is plugged into the car it will no longer program nor will it verify.

the car will not run with the romulator at all.

Any ideas?

Have you tried both the hard and soft pull up settings?.

With the Romulator plugged in there should be an option for hard and soft pullup. What version of the software do you have?

I'm working from memory here, mines out in the garage.

v1.20

Mine always reads "looking for ROmulator" but it programs fine and all goes well until you plug it into the cars computer.

Tunercat RT does the same. It will snyc with the romulator until you have it pluged into the car

If it's looking for the Romulator, then something is wrong.
You can load the buffer without the romulator attached, but to load the ROM means being able to see the Romulator, as I understand it.

When it sees the Romulator you then have the option for hard or soft pull up.

On R_T try the other comm settings.

When you try programming the Romulator with R_T do you see a yellow square in the lower L/H corner?.

yep, and if it is not connected to the car it turns green.

I can load buffer then send to rom fine.. EXCEPT for when the thing is on the car.

I agree, it shouldn't be looking for the romulator for so long.

Tunercat looks and finds it after about 45 seconds. I don't htink the romulator software sees it at all.

I really want to figure this out, tuning a roots blower is pretty difficult and this would make it a bit easier

Try loading the Romulator thru R_T.
Then plug the Romulator into you prom prgrammer, and try to read it. If you can read it, then compare that .bin to the original .bin you loaded. That will tell you if your for sure loading the Romulator.

If your for sure loading the Romulator, then it's a matter of the pull up being wrong, or the ecm doesn't see the Romulator.

If the Romulator does load correctly, without being attached to the ecm then try loading it, and then plug it into the ecm, and see if the check engine light works.

Mine also takes about 30 secs to find the Romulator when first fired up.

Xtronics is working on a cure for the 7060 pcms, maybe that'll be a cure for your's, too. On my 7060 everything looks right, but no SES light, and the engine doesn't run right.
