Tuning 101 2 Days of Tuning Q+A

Just a reminder of the TA Nationals at Dayton International Airport the 22-24 of Aug..

If your going to be in the area, I'm going to have lots of stuff available for Show and Tell.

Romulator, PPII, DIY-WB, scanners, couple ecm benchs. And if you have any guestions, bring them along too. A note book is also a handy tool to have. Probably will have a portable WB that we'll be able to toss on a car for giggles.

It's generally hot, and not much shade so bring fluids, and a hat.

Look for a White, 91 3/4t GMC PU with a utility bed, and or a GN, that may or maynot be on a trailer with said truck.

How far from Tuscon are you?.

I might be meeting up with some folks out that way for a car type event, in the next couple months.

Tucson? LOL, depends how far I wanna stick the gas on the way down! 45 mins to an 1_1/2 hours!

Could it be the Super Chevy Show, NOV 14-16? Ill probably be there anyway if thats the event your talking about. You going to see Dirk or Willie, or is it a GN thing? There are a few crazy fast GNs lurking around up here in Phoenix! Either way let me know, I could round up a few of the locals and head down that way for sure!

I'm figuring on at least showing up, everyday, and then we'll play it by ear depending on heat, and how many people actually attend for what we do.

Things generally kick off about 9ish, and I'm a morning person.

I live 30 mins from the airport so we might just head back here if it's too hot. And there's alot less traffic around here for playing with the WB's.

Some of the guys already have my cell number so getting together other then intially should be a piece of cake.

Look for hotels in Vandalia, Ohio.

Since it's at the airport, lots of good hotels close by.

Tipp City is just north, Dayton to the south on I-75.

cheers, BW

Red Roof, Holiday Inn, Best Western, all the usuals are within a few miles. Towns local are Vandalia, and Englewood.

Argh. I really wanted to make it up there with a working PROMinator, but not only are we going to not have one ready, but my car isn't even remotely tuned yet. I've apparently got to adjust the rockers as it's driving the knock sensor nuts!

After the lost weekend in Jersey, this'll be fun.

I'm slipping took 6 burns with a Trofeo running a 8253 with a S/C 3800, and MANUAL tranny to get the fuel really close. LOL

Used Tunercat, and moved the IAC stuff around to get it nicer, was an interesting time. The 8253 is a P4, and the difference from auto to what a manual liked was interesting. Hit some road construction so did a million stop and goes, and had plenty of time to work on it. I was driving, and Scott was passenger, and we just cruised thru all the IAC trying high and low combinations in each area, til I thought we'd gotten the best out of each table.

Having 2 guys, scanner, WB, and a Romulator is really cheating. You can build a calibration in a day, and still have time for catchin the 11 Oclock news.

Thats off I675 near Wright State University. Your closer to me than the Airport.. lol

Take I-675 south to SR 35.. head west to I-75 and head north to Vandalia.

I'm picking up the T400 tomorrow, then have to pull some thrashing to get it installed. Need to relocate the tranny mount and get the driveshaft cut, and bend some cooler lines.. but I'll be there come hell, high water.. BW

Well infortunately I will not be able to make it. My wife has to work fri and sat and my daughter is not quite self sufficient at 4, (and I wouldn't put you guys or myself thru trying to entertain her )

Hopefully this oppertunity will come up again!

Clear skies, look for a GN with ZR-1 wheels.
Probably will be one lot West of the actual Firebird area.

Rain, 91, 3/4t, utility bed GM Pickup, white.

Gray Sweat Pants, tall, overweight, long hair, usually responds to Hey You, or Bruce.

Be there.

I redid one ecm bench, and have loaded various other items for kind of a show and tell for the weekend. Romulator, test bench, scanners, modified ecms, etc.

To the guys that didn't show, ow well.
for the rest of us having a gas comparing notes, and talking tuning.

Did the Cruise-in thing last night, and consumed ALOT of doses of boost.

Today's fun is gonna be firing up the Romulators, WBs, and tuning.

We're meeting in the lot just west of the main lot, and going for breakfast at 10.

Planning to be back 11ish.

then going walk the field and see what's kEWl.

Did some chips today, and surprisingly enough everyone was happy about the results, hmm, imagine that.....
