I ordered a interface cable for scanning from WOT electronics 3 weeks ago, I was told i would recive it between the 14th and the 16th, while asking questions before ordering I would recive prompt replys, Since then I have email Steve twice and still have not recived a response. and my account has already been billed. does anyone have any suggestions? Has anyone done any buisness with Them?
thanks,
Chris

It's generally better to ask before spending the money if someone is known to folks.

Even a quick scan, of the archives, can narrow the field down of who supplies good stuff, and who the thieves, and pirates are.

Hope it works out for you, but at least you've done us all a service by identifing someone that might not be much on keeping his word.

On a lighter note, might be time to learn how to solder.
You can save lots of money long term by building your own stuff.

well i can solder but I cant really understand wiring diagrams, ( I was never taught) Im only 18 and my high schools tech class never went into details about that.
On the other hand the Link to Steve Ruse's website was provided through Trax's Tech artical to burning your own proms, and I guess I did the wrong thing by ordering from somewhere before I searched through and looked for feedback about this buisness, But I just jumped to conclusions and thought because the link was provided in a tech article by a respectable member that the buisness was trustworthy. Well I guess I dont know If maybe Steve is on Vacation, or somehow unable to reply to my emails, or he is a fraud.
Let this be a lesson to everybody.

I will follow up with what happens.

I would not expect you to have any problems with Steve Ruse. If there's some slowdown, I'm sure it's explainable. I've dealt with him in the past and never had an issue. Could be he got hung up somehow, but I'd hesitate to cast too long of a shadow just yet. Andrew recommends him as well, and that's good enough alone for me.

My guess is that he's 'out of the office' or something. I've inadvertently put people on hold before and had to patch things up when I got back.

Could be something screwy with the shipping. Known to happen also, though not often. Email issue, compute crash, who knows.

I'm sure you'll be OK. If not, there'll be a lynchin'...

I bought a cable June 16 from Steve. Paid with Paypal. Cable arrived in two days. He seemed real professional.

Now you can relax, and get that soldering iron you've been wanting, LOL

Now that you have a known good one, might consider just duplicating it, and seeing if you can get your own to work.

It can really be an assist if you get into the EFI in a serious way,

I got an Xytronic XY9-60 D not long ago, nice unit. Maybe more than the average guy needs though. Digital electronic temp control at the tip. I try to keep it around 666 F...

Craig is evil!!!

I have a GC Electronics temperature controlled Soldering station. Nice unit, but I need to get some finer tips for it for some of the crap that I get into..... It's not digital, and I don't think the temp control is at the tip, but it gets the job done!

Actually, I used to use one of the RatShack 15-30w units. Worked great, but the cruddy copper alloy tips just flow away in no time. What I did was take an 8-32 machine screw and turned it down on the bench grinder to a fine tip and threaded it in instead. Lasted 10 forevers and did real well. Had to shorten it a bit to get the heat conduction, but it was sweet & dirt-cheap too.
