ALDL help, my ALDL doesn't look the same

My ALDL doesn't look right.. only about 1/2 of the holes have a metal connector in them. Is it supposed to be like this? I can't figure out where to plug the leads into with my serial cable..

That is normal, the only pins on the bottom row are in slot "G" and "M".

A= ground
B= ECM power
C= A.I.R.
D= service engine soon light
E= data link to ECM
F=
G= fuel pump
M= data link to ECM

I think I got them all right off the top of my head. Will look to be sure.

The pins are layed out like this, too. I remember that got me the first time I tried logging on my old 92

I know for sure trickster got a, b, and m right, but I -think- that "F" is the other data port, not e.

Every fused 12V cable is OK.

yep, the easiest way would probably be a cig lighter adapter, but like cobra said, any 12+ source will work.
