no EGR, too much ignition timing??

hey all i am installing a set of 113 casting vette aluminum heads on my LB9. obviously they dont have exhaust crossovers for EGR. i am also currently runnin my stock chip, my question is, is the part thorttle timing too aggressive now that i am not running any EGR?

Probably, too much.
Tuning is about finding out what your engine likes.

**** i figured that would be the case. i have no idea how to burn chips, i am gonna start this spring with a friend that is an electrical engineer, but this will be all new to me. i am assuming i will need a scanner to plot knock counts while i drive? i'll continue to read more and figure it out if i can. thanks for the help.

No need for the EE just to burn a chip, grab an IC engine guy if you can! He'll be alot more useful.

trust me, if you run w/o egr then you better disable it in the chip.

well i have been talking to willie and he says he had no problems whatsoever. when i burn my chip i will disabe the EGR just to be safe, but untill then i should be fine. at least it worked for willie.

Well, there is also the advantage of when the non-existant EGR is activated the fuel is also leaned out. . .

I thought EGR only functioned while maintaining somewhat same speeds?

I didn't have to change anything in mine except disable the EGR in the chip when I got my heads/intake W/O EGR.

Run 41deg timing while cruising too.
