Chip help
So I'm looking at getting the Amtel AT29C256 for my 91 Z28 L98. I thought I needed the 90ns one, but of the ones listed, my only choices are:
90JC - 32 LDCC
90PC - 28 DIP
90TC - 28 SOP
90JI - 32 LDCC
90PI - 28 DIP
90TI - 28 SOP
Now I'm confused!! I found this place local that carries all of these, but now I don't know which one to buy. Any help would be greatly appreicated!!! (yeah I'm new at this)
Thanks,
Mike

*** Will work. What you have are three different packaging types. DIP,LDCC and SOP internally are the same, but how they mount to a circuit board differ. Bob

Mike, get the PI series chip. It is an industrial temperature range instead of the usual commercial (PC) range. Cars need the industrial range of -40c to +85c (commercial being 0c to 70c).
Can see page 14 of the data sheet here:
http://www.atmel.com/dyn/resources/p...ts/DOC0046.PDF
It also shows they offer slower chips that may be cheaper. Even the 150ns chip will work in a C3 or P4 ECM: AT29C256-15PI
RBob.
