When I switched from 165(maf) to 749, on the knock sensor module, i plugged wires c and e together before the plug, now do I plug the plug back in? or do I leave the whole plug unplugged?

Also, after the 749 swap, one of my fans comes on immediately at start, is this normal? Or is something wired wrong?

Yes, it needs plugged back onto the sensor.
You might look at the fan enable temps..
On a *cold* engine no the fans shouldn't immediately turn on. Thou maybe with the A/C/def on they might.

He means the plug to the ESC module.

Yes, you jumper E AND C, and leave the module unplugged. throw it in the trash. ESC is built into the memcal on a '730, '749, etc.

What you DO have to do, is get a knock sensor for the same displacement application that uses a '730.


Also on the fan thing. The fans should be tied together. You sure you didn't ground the wire to the temp sensor which is 6 inches above the knock sensor and has a similar connector?

Alright, leave it unplugged. And I will check out to see if I grounded that wire or not. The temp sensor is on the driver's side of the motor if I'm not mistaken, sorry a little rusty on where everything is at.

I also do have a new knock sensor for the motor. I just didn't understand what to do with the module. Thanks a bunch guys, trying to get this thing running by tomorrow before I bring it to get the exhaust bent up, and car finished.
