need opinions on the easiest way to program proms in real time

I did a little researching and it seems there are a few different roads to go down in the quest for us to program our own proms. based on what all you have gone through, what equipment would allow me to tune and re tune my car the easiest AND fastest? I have just bought a used laptop so that is out of the way. I would really like to use the tunercat RT setup as I believe that will allow me to make changes on the fly correct? the laptop will STAY in the car at all times so all connections from the ALDL and ECM will stay connected to the laptop. Now, with that said how much more hardware is need to make this all work for me? this will be used on my 1991z28 with SD.

From: Point Marion PA.
Car: 1982 CAMARO;
Engine: 1985 LB9;
Transmission: T-5/
Autoprom:
-Device that burns chips,Real Time Emulating, ALDL logging
-Able to log "ALDL" data, except much faster than the standard rates (?)
-Three extra A/D inputs for whatever you want,
-Isn't Perminate, You can Tune in real time and get it where you like it, then burn the EEPROM and insert EEPROM into the ECM and take the AutoProm To another Vechicle

Prominator:
-A Device that's more or less a replacement for the chip in your ECM, so it stays in the case, and you just write to it from a laptop
-On the fly updating is available in the pro version, but for the standard version you have to shut off the car while it updates
-Uses the parallel port on the computer, so that the serial port can still be used for ALDL logging
-it doesn't support higher speed logging of ALDL data (160 or 8192 works)
-Will need a Moates adapter to install it into your ECM
