data error

I was logging some data with datamaster. It showed a data error. Not sure what that means. Maybe you could help me understand what is going on....

I get the same thing. I have no clue what it means. The chime gets annoying doesn't it.
Any body have any ideas?

Anything red in the DTC window?
Any trouble code seen there will throw the error, this looks like a communication drop out or a bad chunk of data.
Could also be an interference from something electrical near the harness.
Maybe a loose connection at the ALDL or play with the comm settings to get it to go away.

Nope, and the connection was good. I just don't get it. When the mouse pointer is over the data error box it says "engine data checksum error".

makes me wonder if the tps is sticking. I checked another log file. At the time of that error, the tps % was 100 and the tps voltage was 3.73 .....Guess I'll check into that and let you guys know

When it does it to me my knock counts shot way up for a split second and then returned to normal.
I think it is just a fluke in the data stream, maybe some interference of some sort.

That's kind of what I thought but kind of got confused with the checksum error, do not know if the error is in the prom or data stream
