OBD I cable to serial question.

Has anyone ever tried this companies cable on the TunerPro program??

Scroll about half way down, its only $30.00 for the cable. I know Craig Moats has one too but he only has the USB version and my computer's USB port no longer functions...

Besides its only $30 compared to $80

You can build one for less than 5$ Check Winaldl's site there is a good schematic there.

unfortunately, the single trans cable will only work at 160 baud. If you want to look at the 8192 baud datastream, you need to use either the max232 circuit or the 2 transistor one.

Here's the links:

What's the difference between 160 baud data and the other you mentioned? I'm running a 65 ECM....

The difference is in how frequently the ecm outputs data to your datalogging software. So, 8192 baud will have a lot more updates per time length than 160 baud. Given the chance I'd want to connect at 8192 baud.

I imagine the $30 Ease cable is short and will just connect to thier OBDI interface, which has like a 25pin serial connector. after the interface you goto your PC serial port with a 9pin cable.

You could cut the end of the 30$ EASE cable off and put your own end on it I suppose....but the the cable is not that long to begin with..

PS I have the EASE Scan tool personal version for OBDI, that is how know this..

I would imagine you could still buy an extension cable with a 9 pin on one end and a 25 pin on the other...
