165-730 Adapter ?

Alright I upgraded from a 870'-165 not to long ago. I have found that I have a bad MAF and rather than replace the maf I am going to build a adapter Per Mike Davis Site.http://www.eecis.udel.edu/~davis/z28/ecm_swap_730/

Well I tried to unsolder a ECM Pin Header from the old 870 with no luck, Does anyone have a Unsoldered Pin header from a 165 or equivlent that they want to get rid of.

I will give the 870 which still has header Soldered to some one to replace the Header the send me.

are you going to permanently change the ecm? if so, you could repin the connectors to a 730, rather than make an adapter harness, will be more reliable, and only cost the price of the '730 connectors. Its also easy enough to swap back, as long as you don't want to swap in like 10 minutes.

Well I want to make the adapter harness Because I don't Think my 1985 Harness will Take another Repinning With out a furneral. Plus I will have a 165' to Run the car in a Emergency should something happen to the 730. Plus this will allow me to lengthen the existing harness. The adapter just makes more sense to me because I will have flexability to go where I need to.

Thanks Grumpy. I found the website at http://www.casperselectronics.com/ but I couldn't find the ECM Headers online.
Guess I will have to call them, you have any idea how much they cost off the top of your head, If not Please ask Doc.

Here's how I made my conversion harness. It's housed in my old 165 box. Don't mind the D-sub connectors. The left is pinned for a 730, the right for a 749 -- so I can switch back & forth without repinning.

All you really need are header pins...get them from Mouser.com or Digikey
