Question on shift light

Alright, by know we have figured out our tachs are off by doing some datalogging. I have looked some of the various shift light parameters have a few questions. Since the shift light comes from the ecm, is the rpms it gathers data from going to be the dataloggers values or the tach on the instrument panel. I'm sorry if that's confusing.

The shift light is based on the ECM RPM value. The tach is a completely separate unit. So, the shift light will match the data logged value, minus the 160 baud ALDL delay.

Rbob,
Did anyone ever figure out how to change the RPM that the "shift" light comes on at? I know there are the looooonnng posts about doing it, and I would hate to go back and read them to discover it had not been done yet.

Yep - It's in TunerCat, at least for the 730 with $8D mask. Might have to contact him to get the update, but it's there and works great!

I necessary, I can get the hex addresses where the data is stored, but I have no idea what the fomat of the data at those locations is....

IIRC myself and someone else posted the complete run down of converting the shift light into an RPM only based shift light. We both posted to the same thread. And, IIRC, it was for the '8746.
