OK, don't know how I've done it, but somehow the shift light is comng on in 5th gear on my T-5. It never has before the tranny swap last Thursday when I put in my beefed uo TKO Performance T-5. I am running a Dakota Digital VSS converter due to the rear swap to the Ford 9", but I had that previous to this problem.

As far as I can tell, the only changes I've made in the BIN that are shift light related were all done long ago as well. I've got the light coming on at 2000RPM, and forced on at 5000RPM, but strangely enough it comes on at 2K in 5th gear as well. ANd just started doing it.

Any ideas????

 

Vern, Did this happen after you installed your lower gears? That might be the problem. IIRC thats when mine started doing the same thing.

 

No, Tom, it actually didn't. I installed the 4.11's the first of April, and had a highway drive (60 mniles each way two weeks ago and didn't see this problem. At that point I was running a temp T-5 that was set up for a 2.73 rear and had the Dakota Digital box cranked way up to get the speedo pretty close. My original beefed up tranny I put in last Thursday was only set uo for the 3.42 original gears, so the DD box is set a lot lower now. And the problem just occurred. Checked the BIN, but don't see any reason for the change.

So, yours does this too?

 

Well, it used to, now I'm using the AUJP bin, since the automatic conversion. When I was using the AXYC bin, it did it right after I installed a lower gear set. I just did not pay any attention to it. Was it because of the gear change?, I dont know. Just thought I'd mention it, as I knew you were recently involved in a rear change.
