Tuning v6 Firebird with Autoprom
has anyone been able to datalog with their autoprom on a 3.1 liter v6 firebird. i think 90-92 are the same ecm and engine size. i have the 730 ecm and my autoprom is recognized by tuner pro, i have autoprom version 2.8 and the software recognizes it but when i go to datalog it will no connect to the ecm. i am using the 8d aldl datastream for the v6 and it wont do anything but say not connected. i have also tried other 8d files but still does the same thing. i built a 2 transistor cable to datalog with a long time ago and it did the same thing, so i figured i did something wrong and just purchased an autoprom because i want to be able to tune also. well, this doesnt work either. its a usb based autoprom if that makes a difference. any help will do me wonders. -Matt

Need to use an $88 data stream file. Don't know if there is one around for it or not. I do know that the $8D data stream file won't work. The header values are different.

i got the ads file from moates.net its the 1227730_V6_90-92 file with the $88 mask. if i keep trying to connect it will connect sometimes but then the error count will just steadily rise and nothing reads out on the sensor data. yes i tried passthrough mode. it wont even connect at all in that mode. from what i have read and can figure out i thiunk it is just the ads file that is keeping it from communicating, but i dont know what to change at all.

In passthrough, yes, you do. You need to select the COM port that the USB driver is installed on.

thanks for the help guys, turns out it was a mix between using the wrong comport and having the wrong definition file selected. i was using $8d instead of $88. and i had com 5 selected in the hardware profile and tunerpro. seems like it should have worked but i changed them both to com 3 and now it all works properly. thanks for your help guys.
