Car will not run with ALDL connected (Part 2)
I hope it's ok to make a new thread. My friends and I believe we found the problem. Look at this datamaster screenshot with the car not running:
My buddy thinks my convertor is locking up, and thats why it runs for two seconds. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Next step is to disconnect the 4 pin connector plugged into the transmission. Does it run after that? If not then make sure you have a 10K resistor(not a 3.xK or 10 ohm) for the aldl cable....

The cable is correct, along with the resistor.
I don't understand why it would request overdrive ONLY in ALDL mode

its not unusual to see something like the TCC showing as locked or fourth gear requested with the engine off.
but even if the convertor was locked up, either because of a computer problem or a convertor problem, it would still run as long as you were in park or neutral, it would die as soon as you put it in gear & then it would start right back up with no problem once you put it back in park or neutral.
im wondering, is there a way you can hook your desk top PC up in your car & see what happens?

With the engine not running and in diagnostic mode, won't the solenoids cycle on/off as a test?
was just looking through the $8D and saw some stuff like that on the outputs.
Is there something similar to that in your mask?
Just wondering if you really have 10K because diagnostic test would use 4.7K IIRC.

If it means anything. With the ALDL connected, when I turn the key foward, the SES light blinks real fast, then stays steady.
